The Mechanical Tree

The Mechanical Tree will teach the public a collaborative, whimsical version of photosynthesis and transpiration.

People must work together to dispense maple candy from the interactive maple leaves. By activating its light and motion sensors, the tree performs photosynthesis to produce sugar and oxygen. The mechanical tree illustrates the movement of water from the roots to the canopy and its release through transpiration.

It highlights that both transpiration and photosynthesis take place simultaneously.
